This Friday's Racing Postponed

CHATSWORTH, Ga. (June 26) Due to a death in the family NorthGeorgia Speedway has postponed the BJ Parker Southern Thunder event and allracing scheduled for this Friday night June 27.

On Tuesday night long time racer, race fan and permanentfixture at Cleveland Speedway Jerry Meadows passed away after a short illness.

“Jerry and his wife Peggy have been involved with ClevelandSpeedway for over 30 years and are part of the family,” said Cleveland Speedwayowner/promoter and promoter of North Georgia Speedway Monty Morrow. “Jerry’sfuneral will be on Friday afternoon and with the number of people that are keyto making North Georgia Speedway work going to the funeral we have made thedecision to postpone Friday night’s Southern Thunder to a later date.”

Visitation will be from 1-8pm today Thursday June 26 andfrom 11-1pm on Friday at Lane Funeral Home in Chattanooga. Funeral Serviceswill be Friday at 1pm in the Coulter Chapel with Rev. Harold Swaggertyofficiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
